From March 23 to 28, the international training of the Erasmus+ KA2 project “GrInnED – Green innovation: Make education sustainable!” took place at the vocational school Scuola professionale provinciale alberghiera “Savoy” in the city of Merano, Italy.

The training focused on different topics related to sustainable education. One of the topics was “Understanding ourselves and the planet.” Participants took a sustainability test about land use, population, and resource consumption. This made everyone think about how our actions affect the environment.

Students from vocational schools presented their homework. Students from RVT prepared a presentation about the city of Merano. Later, everyone joined an activity called “World Café,” where students worked in teams and talked about sustainability in tourism. They discussed how to encourage responsible travel, how to reduce the negative effects of too much tourism, and how to become people who help create positive change.

To better understand nature and how people affect the environment, the participants went on a mountain hike, reaching 1300 meters above sea level. After the hike, they discussed sustainability from a tourist's point of view. Each group had to create a guide for sustainable tourism by analyzing different situations. They looked at the possible effects on nature and the local community and came up with solutions to balance tourism and environmental protection.

The presentations were made in creative formats — like videos, audio recordings, or short theater performances. At the end, students took part in a sustainability-themed quest game and received certificates for their participation in the project.
