Teachers' meeting
Teachers' Meeting: February 11–13, 2025, Merano, Italy
From February 11 to 13, 2025, teachers gathered in Merano, Italy, for a project meeting to discuss sustainable tourism. They explored different aspects of sustainability, including its challenges, practical applications, and how education can help promote it.
The meeting began with a session titled "Does Sustainable Tourism Really Exist? A Different Perspective," which encouraged participants to think about the contradictions in the idea of sustainable tourism.
On the second day, the meeting started with group presentations on "Taste of Tradition: Connecting Food, Culture, and Nature." Each group gave a 10-minute presentation about how food and culture can be connected in sustainable ways. Later, a practical workshop called Circular Food Economy explored the journey from farm to plate, showing how sustainability can be applied to food systems.
The last day was focused on creating a Sustainable Tourism Guide. Teachers worked together to develop useful recommendations and best practices for making tourism more sustainable.
This meeting gave teachers new insights and opportunities to share ideas for improving sustainability efforts in both tourism and education.
